Please come join us for the
CPRA 2010 Summer Symposium!

Friday, June 25
At the Community Center at REI in Boulder

This full-day symposium will feature David Lamb, senior consultant with Target Analytics. David is recognized as a leader and top-rated resource for prospect researchers worldwide. His areas of expertise include prospect research, prospect management, fundraising, and database systems.

For the morning session, David will cover the topic of
Social Networks and Fundraising. The concept of “networking” has changed in the last few years with the rise of popular social networking websites like Facebook, MySpace and LinkedIn. Because of the immediate and informal nature of these sites, there may be opportunities for nonprofits to interact with their constituents in new ways, build relationships, and persuasively get their mission and message across to their constituents engaged with these new media. This session will introduce the participants to some of the most popular networking sites, explain the differences between them, and explore the opportunities and challenges they present to fundraising.

Following that, he will discuss
Relationship Mapping. We know how our donors are connected to our institutions, but how are they connected to our volunteers, other supporters and other organizations?  How can this knowledge help us to create a networking web that allows us to reach more people in a more individual way?  How can you uncover hidden relationships that just might get you in the door?  Explore the opportunities available in relationship mapping and through the analysis of social networks and constituent interactions to enhance your prospect research and management effort.

In the afternoon, David will present
Prospect Tracking and Management. Good prospect management means employing systems to make sure that top prospects are moving steadily toward making a gift. We’ll look at best practices and sample reports that you can take back and implement in your office.

David Lamb is a 20-year prospect research professional who is recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on prospect research, data modeling, and analytics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Sterling College, a master’s degree in sociology from Wichita State University, and a master’s degree in Divinity from the San Francisco Theological Seminary.
